What is Panacur 150 mg?
Panacur is a member of the benzimidazole group of dewormers and is an oral medication. Each tablet contains 150 mg of Fenbendazole, a widely recognized and trusted anti-parasitic drug. It kills both larval and adult stages of parasites to treat the whole infection and minimize the chance of reinfestation.
How Fenbendazole Eliminates Parasites
Fenbendazole interferes with the parasites’ ability to uptake nutrients, thereby killing them. It attaches to the parasite’s tubulin molecules, inhibiting the formation of microtubules, necessary for energy metabolism and reproduction. Deprived of energy, the parasite begins to atrophy and then die off, at which point the animal’s body can clear the infection on its own. This mechanism is responsible for making Fenbendazole efficient as well as safe for many types of organisms.
